IBIZA BEACHES
Every year more than 4 million visitors come to the island, which has just under 100,000 permanent residents. ‘Eivissa’ is the formal Catalan name and the name used by its inhabitants.
The Balearic island has had many occupants over the last thousand years, from the ancient Phoenician and Carthigan peoples to the Greeks, Moors, Turks and Catalans.
By the 60s, though, the main invaders were hippies and they establishing Ibiza as a place for counterculture. All left their cultural fingerprints on Ibiza with a 2000 year-old salt industry, an old smugglers route, a hippie market and a charming old town – just to mention a few.
Now, Ibiza is more international than ever. This is evident in the many restaurants with very different culinary experiences and in the bars and clubs with chic designs located with absolutely breathtaking scenery.

Ibıza Beaches
The main feature is that it is an island surrounded by water, so obviously we will find precious little beaches and coves where they beat us a bath.
In Ibiza, the beaches are much like each other, because all are surrounded by pine trees and white sand, though each has something to differentiate them from others.
List here all the beaches and coves of the island would be easy, but not serious. So I’ll just list the beaches, in my opinion, are must-see:
Cala Compta
The beach is located on the westernmost island in the municipality of Sant Antoni. This beach is notable for the clarity of the water reminds her very much any beach in the Seychelles or the Maldives, but replacing pines with palm trees. It is advisable to take an umbrella, just as there are no shaded areas, and diving goggles, because there is an amazing marine life.
Beware of currents there, which are often cold and if you’re not used to swim can crawl.
Cala Bassa
Cala Bassa is another white-sand beaches and clear waters that make you think you are in any tropical island and not in the Mediterranean Sea. The scenery is beautiful, surrounded by pine trees and a rocky area that invites you to fish. Highly recommended for families with children, because the waters are very deep. Located in the town of Sant Antoni, southwest of the island. There are bus lines that lead to it.
Benirrás
Beach in Sant Miquel, on the north coast of the municipality of Sant Joan. It is a sandy cove surrounded by old fishermen’s huts that give a lovely touch. Details of a rock in the middle of the igloo-shaped cove also characterizes this cove where every Sunday night hippies gather to play the drums.
Highly Recommended sunset in this cove.
Can only be reached by car from Sant Miquel.
Cala Nova
Beach in Santa Eulalia des Riu, particularly in Es Canar can be reached by bus. This is a beautiful beach, white sand and crystal clear waters and clean. Surrounded by dunes and pine trees and mediteranean, part of this beach that makes it spectacular for its big waves in the days of Tramuntana.
Cala Xucla
If you want to disconnect from everything and everyone, this cove is ideal. Small sandy cove surrounded by houses of fishermen, ideal for walking around and where to find absolute peace. Located in Sant Miquel, in the municipality of Sant Joan, and can be reached only by car.
Cala Salada
Cala Salada is one of the most beautiful bays in Ibiza. Surrounded by hills of pine, offers a clean, clear waters and a walk along the cliffs TOTL recommended, leading to a small cove, Cala Saladeta and Ses Fontanelles cave, caves paintings by the Bronze Age .
It is preferred by residents. It is located near San Antonio.
Cala Jondal
White sand beach and clear waters. Surrounded by pine trees that dot the sand, shaded spaces provided very grateful. It has a restaurant with sun chill giving it a very cool touch to the beach.
